EECP Machine definition:

EECP machine is triggered by patient's heart beat.While doing EECP treatment,Patient will be lying on the bed and cuffs wrapped around lower limbs,The EECP bed includes a pressure source that inflates and deflates these cuffs.The pressure moves the blood from lower limbs toward the heart.Each wave of pressure is timed with your heart beat via ECG signal.So that the increased blood flow is delivered to heart at the precise moment when heart relaxing.When heart pumps again,the pressure in cuffs is withdrawn immediately,so that blood pumped more easily from the heart.

EECP just like an external heart,two hearts work for patient.Greatly increases blood perfusion and blood supply to vital organs.

EECP Machine procedure: 

While doing treatment,patient will be asked to lying on the comfortable bed,with cuffs wrapped around the lower limbs.3 Leads ecg electrodes will be attached to your chest to collect your heart rate.The cuffs inflate and deflate is timed with your heart rhythm.While heart at the rest period,the cuffs inflated in sequence from calve to thigh and buttocks,pushing the lower limbs blood flow back to your heart muscle.So the heart get more blood.The increased blood flow also help to forming small vessels across the blockages which is called “natural bypass” to supply the oxygen-rick blood to the ischemic area that not receiving before.So as to relieve the chest pain.
At the onset of heart pumping,all cuffs deflate at the same time.Reduce the cardiac workload.

As the EECP treatment wrap the cuffs around the calf,thigh and buttock.It will squeezing the lower limbs at a big pressure,To avoid skin-irritation,then you may be advised to wear soft tight pants.

And it’s squeezing our stomach,to avoid vomiting and urine,so we advice not eat too much and go to bathroom before EECP treatment.

And the inflate and deflate is timed with patients heart rate.You may also be asked not drink much coffee or tea that may affect your heart rate at least 30minutes before treatment.

Overall,The treatment is very comfortable,just like leg massage.You can go home after the treatment is finished and there is no special recovery time needed.You can resume your normal activities right away.

The procedure usually takes 35 one-hour sessions,one hour per day,5days per week for 7 weeks.
Also patient can take 2 hour per day(one hour in the morning one hour in the afternoon) if patient can tolerate it,5 days per week for 3.5 weeks.
